Hemangioma...

What the hell is that you ask??

Well I looked it up to better understand what the hell the doctor was saying...

"A hemangioma of infancy (or haemangioma of infancy) is a benign self-involuting tumor of endothelial cells (the cells that line blood vessels). In most cases it appears during the first days or weeks of life and will have resolved at the latest by age 10. In infancy, it is the most common tumor."

So the good news is that it is not my gallstones but a benign tumor on my liver. It scared the shit out of me...I am now going for a CT scan to see it even closer but some people are saying not to and just wait for another ultrasound in 3 months! "There is more rays in a CT scan to harm you than whats in you" Does anyone know about this? I need some guidance! I almost wish it was my gallstones. Sometimes the pain is not tolerable!

The crappy part is that its been hurting all day long and then we went out for lunch, took two bites (lobster ravioli) and I was in the loo sending it right back up! Crap...I just threw up again. WTF????? It just goes to show that stress plays a huge part on our body! I AM HUNGRY!

I did get on the scale and was surprised to see 194! Maybe it was the bitch assing run I went for last night to clear my head!

I SOOOO NEED THIS VACATION!

  1. So sorry you have to do more tests. I guess I would do the CT scan, just to know it's it's totally benign, but that's just me. Hopefully they can give you something to handle the pain.

  3. Oh goodness N.. I can't give any advice, my DH has had so many damn scans (CT,MRI, full body) so that probably doesn't help. I found this link on FDA's website..

Wishing that you feel better SOON.

  6. I have to admit a live hemangioma was a new one for me. I would look at the mayo clinic site for more information. I am going there now to read up on everything, if you need to talk shoot me an email dear. I will be thinking of you.

  7. I meant liver hemangioma..sorry can't type. After doing a little research my opinion is to have the scan; yes there are some "rays" but it's not gonna hurt you (lots of people have multiple CT's and MRI's done and have no issues) and if you are having pain then you need to know if the hemangioma is large enough to be causing problems or if you have something else going on. Yes, hemangiomas normally cause no issues but in the event yours it then you need to do something about it. And if it's not that then they need to figure out why you are having such pain. Make those doctors work for you, it's your body.

  10. Go for the CT. It's free so why not. You probably get more radiation from your cell phone. Maybe then they will be able to give you options. I have a bunch of cysts in my liver for years and they haven't bothered me. But I do know that internal hermangioma's can hurt.

Hope the upchucking stops for your vacay and you can have a relaxing time!
