Ok, I just copied this from the site...
"It’s recommended to not use a straw when drinking beverages. Straws introduce
increased amounts of air into the stomach and can cause gas which can be
uncomfortable and painful. People tend to take bigger drinks with straws and drink
liquids faster which could also result in more fluid then the stomach can hold"
And when I do use one, I can feel the pressure/gas for SURE!
Good to know it isn't anything too horrible. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteMy doctor doesnt have the no straw rule and I havent stopped using one and I cant tell a different. I hope it doesnt change when my band gets tighter!
ReplyDeleteI have used them all along. Rebel in the house!
ReplyDeletewow...I use on every AM with my skim latte with protein powder. Perhaps I need to re-assess???
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone get a lot of gas??? I know I do when I use a straw...everyone is different!
ReplyDeleteI guess that's why the dude at the wine tasting I attended last night gave me a look when I asked for a straw...
ReplyDeleteI've heard this about straws before so I try not to drink from them too - unless I'm in a bar though and I don't really want my lips touching the glass.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You're Canadian - love it!
I dribble like an idiot if I don't use a straw... seriously, I'm not kidding. I use a straw for everything. Well, everything EXCEPT wine, because I want to drink that slowly. I guess I'm a lucky one who doesn't get gas when I drink from straws. Good thing, or I'd have to start carrying a bib around with me...
ReplyDeleteps- congrats on onderland... any chance of pics?
Pics will come...I love the before and after's so when I down to the 150's!
